The Centre for Independent Studies has been running its successful student weekend conference programme for 10 years. The conference allows students from all disciplines who have an interest in classical liberal thinking to explore the ideas in more depth.

“Thought provoking, challenging and a breath of fresh air.”

Successful applicants will receive a scholarship to attend the conference, covering food and accommodation.

Travel subsidy is also available.

VIDEO - The Artist, The QC and The Refugee

This excellent TV production tells the story of an apparently conservative QC, Julian Burnside, and the artist Kate Durham, who against the tide of public opinion made a moral choice to help asylum seekers, including Australia's most famous refugee, Alladin Sisalem. The 30 minute documentary examines the notion of how far individuals go for their moral beliefs and reminds us of the events and thinking behind what has become one of Australia's greatest moral challenges.

Producer: Marcus Gillezeau
