Human Rights is a Federal Election Issue

It is time for ordinary people to speak out about the sad state of Human Rights in Australia, and to hold their elected representatives accountable, according to barrister Kurt Esser, Chairman of The Justice Project (TJP), a Melbourne-based non-partisan human rights campaign organisation.

Announcing the first of a series of public forums on human rights, Mr Esser said TJP is encouraging communities across Australia to invite their candidates to attend public meetings organised by community organisations for the purpose of asking candidates, specifically, how they would act to protect human rights, if elected.

"The first such Human Rights Forum will be held on 4 September in Melbourne, and is being organised by the Darebin community in the Federal seat of Batman,”
