2007 Human Rights Forum Kit PDF Print E-mail

TJP has produced a 'Forum Kit' which provides essential information for any community group who wishes to run a Candidates' Human Rights Forum in the lead up to the 2007 federal election.

It is with great pleasure that we formally launch TJP's 2007 Human Rights Forum Campaign by publishing our 2007 Forum Kit.

Successful forums have already taken place in the Victorian seats of Batman, Jagajaga and Higgins.

They differed from each other in many respects yet, with a specific emphasis on Human Rights and their adherance to the model outlined in our Forum Kit, were all good examples of how human rights forums will be run in the next 3-4 months: local community groups co-operating with one another - perhaps for the first time - to stage a public event that should interest all of us humans, no matter who we normally vote for: the protection of our rights.
We don't want to be confrontational. Our aim is to raise the profile of human rights and start to put human rights firmly on the national political agenda.

Planning is underway for additional forums in Wannon, Menzies and in Gellibrand as well as the two ACT seats of Canberra and Fraser.

Thanks to all our contributors.
TJP will do everything we can to help you run a forum in your electorate.
